What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

The Company complies with applicable laws and regulations, including the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA). For the protection of children’s online privacy, and in general, we WILL NOT:

  • Collect online contact information from children under 13 without prior parental notification and consent which will include an opportunity for the parent to prevent use of the information and the child’s participation in the related activity.
  • Collect the personally identifiable contact information of a child under 13 without prior parental consent.
  • Distribute to third-parties any personally identifiable information relating to a child under 13 without prior parental consent.
  • Give children under 13 the ability to post or otherwise distribute personally identifiable contact information without prior consent.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms

When you fill out forms on www.r3ciprocity.com we only collect the information you enter into the contact form.  If the form asks for your name, email address, or any other personal information, then that information is sent to us via email.  We only retain that information—including your email address—for as long as necessary to address your purpose in contacting us.

We do not collect your email address from the comments form for use in any email list, such as a newsletter or marketing email list.  We also never sell email addresses to third parties.

When you sign up for r3ciprocity.com, you give us certain voluntary information. This includes your name, email address, profile photo, comments, and any other information you give us. You can choose to share with us your location data. If you buy credits from us, we collect payment information (not your banking information), and details of what you bought. If you link Facebook, Gmail, or other third party services, we collect information from those services. The information that we collect from those services depends on your settings, so please check what they are.

Email addresses provided in contact forms are not ever used by R3ciprocity LLC. for any purpose other than to reply to you in regards to your reason for contacting us.  We never sell information from contact forms to any third parties for any purpose.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Who we share your data with

We don’t sell or share your data with anyone, unless you give explicit permission to by prompted and clicking “OK” that you consent to the sharing of anonymous information for research purposes. We do use a 3rd party email provider to store your email address if you voluntarily signed up for our email newsletter.

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
