To purchase credits on r3ciprocity.com log in to your account and go to your profile. Click Buy Credits and select the amount of credits you wish to buy. Enter your card details. When you have clicked to pay for your credits a pop-up box will appear confirming that your purchase was successful. Purchasing Credits: A Step-By-Step Guide

Step 1: Log in

You won’t get far with r3ciprocity.com without an account. It’s free to sign up and get started! Go to How To Log-In To R3ciprocity.com for more information on getting started on the platform.

Step 2: Go to your profile

You can buy R3ciprocity credits by clicking on Buy Credits on the welcome page. You can also buy credits through your profile by clicking on the profile icon in the top right-hand corner of the page, scrolling down and clicking on Buy Credits.

Step 3: Choose how many credits to buy

You can choose from either 200, 800 or 2000 credits to buy. If you have a lot of writing you would like proofread then consider choosing to purchase a higher number of credits. The more credits you buy the more you will save.

Step 4: Enter your card details

When you have selected the number of credits to purchase and clicked Buy Credits, a pop-up box will appear in the middle of your screen. Carefully type in the card number, expiry date and CVC number of your credit or debit card. The CVC number is the last three digits of the number on the signature strip on the back of your card.

If you are happy for r3ciprocity.com (financial transactions are handled by Stripe on the platform) to remember your card details then tick the Remember me box. Step 5: Make sure your purchase is confirmed

When you have clicked to pay for your credits another pop-up box will appear informing you that your payment has been successful. The number of credits you have purchased will be added to your total in the top right hand corner of the screen. You will also be able to see the transaction on your My Payments page by clicking on R3ciprocity Debits and Credits and then Credits.

In some rare cases the transaction will not go through. For example, if there has been a long period of inactivity on the platform. If the pop-up box does not appear informing you that your payment has been successful and your credits are not added to your total then your payment may not have gone through. Wait a short time to confirm this and then repeat the process.

Step 6: Spend your credits

Congratulations! You now have R3ciprocity credits on your account to spend on getting high quality proofreading of your writing and valuable support to help you become a better writer.

How do I spend my credits?

Once you have purchased or earned credits through r3ciprocity.com it is time to spend them getting helpful proofreading and personalized comments on your writing. Make sure you are logged into your account and upload your document on the My Documents page. The platform accepts documents from a range of word processing software such as Microsoft Word, Google Docs or Open Office. Click Send to Review to send the document to a r3ciprocity.com proofreader.

How many R3ciprocity credits will I need?

The number of credits you will need to purchase depends on the amount of writing you want proofread by a r3ciprocity proofreader through the platform. When you upload your document on the My Documents page you will be able to see how many R3ciprocity credits it will cost you to have it proofread. You will also see other information about your document including the estimated wait time (the estimated amount of time you will be waiting for your document to be proofread). At this point you can either click Send to Review or click the Delete trash can icon. Clicking Delete removes your document from R3ciprocity entirely.

You can find out how many credits you will need for a specific document before purchasing credits by uploading it through My Documents. You will not be able to Send to Review without credits but you will be able to see the wait time and the number of credits it will cost you to send.

As a general rule around 200 credits will allow you to send for review around 800 words. However the final price for proofreading of a document is the number of credits given when you upload it.

How much do R3ciprocity credits cost?

200 R3ciprocity credits costs $9.99. If you have a lot of work that you would like proofread then you can save money by buying more credits. 800 credits cost $39.99 (saving you 2.5%) and 2000 credits cost $94.99 (saving you 5%). You can purchase more credits at any time using any credit or debit card.

If you live outside the USA you can still buy credits through the r3ciprocity.com platform for high quality proofreading. Just use your credit or debit card information as usual and your bank will automatically convert the amount in US dollars to the equivalent amount in your currency. These currency transactions are all handled through Stripe.com.

R3ciprocity prices are much more affordable than other proofreading options. However the joy of r3ciprocity is in the reciprocity: You get free proofreading when you proofread for others!

How can I get credits for free?

Purchasing credits through r3ciprocity is not the only way to get them. There are also several ways you can get free credits. You can get 100 free credits for sharing r3ciprocity.com on social media. You can also get free credits for telling your friends about r3ciprocity.com – 200 credits for every new member that signs up through the link in your welcome email. Go to your r3ciprocity.com profile and enter in the email addresses of your friends to send them a welcome email.
